International Violin Masterclass
& Chamber Music Workshop
Eligibility
The Leonidas Kavakos International Violin Masterclass & Chamber Music Workshop is open to advanced-level violinists and chamber music ensembles from Music Academies, Conservatories, and Universities worldwide.
There is no age limit.
Candidates wishing to participate as Active Participants will be selected exclusively on the basis of a Recorded Performance Audition.

Recorded Performance Audition, submitted exclusively via a public or unlisted/private YouTube link

Successful applicants selected as Active Participants will be notified by email by December 31, 2026.
All application and audition materials submitted will become part of the records of the Musical Horizons Conservatory and will not be returned. Applicants are therefore advised to retain copies of all submitted materials.

Audition Repertoire
Violinists and Chamber Music Ensembles should submit a recording of one work they wish to study and perform with Leonidas Kavakos during the Masterclass.
Please note that the work submitted for the Recorded Performance Audition must be the same work the applicant intends to perform during the Masterclass if selected as an Active Participant.
Applicants should also indicate two additional repertoire choices on their Application Form as possible alternatives for the Masterclass.
Recording Requirements
The audition recording must:
Be performed by the applicant or ensemble submitting the application.
Be a recent recording, made within the past year.
Be submitted as an unedited performance, without added effects or post-production alterations.
Include piano accompaniment where required by the repertoire.
Have clear, well-balanced sound, with the soloist clearly audible in relation to the accompaniment.
Be filmed with the camera positioned sufficiently close to provide a clear view of the performer(s).
Videos consisting of photographs, montages, moving images, or other visual material accompanied by background music will not be accepted.
Audition recordings must be submitted exclusively via Younison. If access to the video requires a password or other access information, please include the relevant details in your email.
Auditioning Process

Accompaniment
All repertoire requiring piano accompaniment must be performed with piano during the Masterclass.
Active Participants are encouraged to bring their own accompanist. If this is not possible, the Musical Horizons Conservatory will provide a pianist free of charge, including one rehearsal and the Masterclass performance.
Applicants should indicate their preferred accompaniment arrangement on the Application Form.
The Masterclass will be conducted in English and Greek -where applicable.

Cancellation Policy
In the event that an Active Participant needs to cancel their participation, 50% of the participation fee will be refunded, provided that written notification is received by the Musical Horizons Conservatory no later than January 20, 2027.
All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to info@wmo.gr.
For cancellations received after January 20, 2027, no refund will be issued.
